Training Programmes- Intercultural Effectiveness

Intercultural Effectiveness for the Global Manager

Being able to manage cultural differences and manage effectively across cultures is increasingly a part of every global manager’s job. This program provides an understanding of the issues, challenges and dynamics inherent in cross-cultural management, promotes cultural self-awareness in participants, and develops participants’ competence in intercultural communication.

The above curriculum for a one day program provides the ‘fundamentals’ on intercultural effectiveness. Depending on needs, or interest, and time, other topics that could be trained on are: teamwork and team performance, managing conflicts, decision making.

Cultural Introduction to Southeast Asia

This 3 day cultural immersion workshop is for professionals, managers, executives and business people who are ‘cultural strangers’ to Southeast Asia. The workshop emphasises a total approach to understanding culture in Southeast Asia via learning the overall context, the ‘frames of reference’ in which all social behaviour is grounded. Thus, participants will broadly cover the history of Southeast Asia post World War II, diversity in cultures and societies in SEA, the role of religion, politics and governance, and economic development and co-operation in the region.
